Postcard Campaign Part 2 Print E-mail
Join WAVE's 2010 Campaign!
Help us make a difference for women in VET!
Let your voice be heard!

WAVE's 2010 pre federal election campaign comes at a critical time, as COAG considers major reform for the VET system. Our 2010 Campaign Package includes a tangible postcard and an e-postcard that seek federal Government commitment to implement a new strategic framework for Australian women with a clear set of priorities and targets that take account of their diverse backgrounds, locations, life stages and needs. This framework must be based on gender analyses and set in the context of key initiatives including the implementation of the COAG Reforms, the Education Revolution and the work of the National VET Equity Advisory Committee.

If you would like some printed postcards sent to you, please email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will post some out to you.

Subject: WAVE - Women in Adult & Vocational Education Inc
Body: Dear ....................................
I support WAVE's call on Government to endorse and enact the following recommendations for change in VET policy and programs to achieve substantive equality between men and women in Australia:
1. make women's learning needs central to all long term VET strategies and policies
2. implement a VET strategic framework for women with clear priorities and accountability mechanisms
3. ensure access to funded relevant training that enhances career pathways for women
4. ensure employment creation programs and employer-based incentive schemes benefit women
5. ensure gender expertise on all national VET equity advisory committees and working groups
6. collect, analyse and publish performance and outcome data that include trends over time and are disaggregated by gender and demographic characteristics.
I call on you to act to implement these strategies through urgent action and targeted funding to improve the situation for women and girls in vocational education and training, including employment outcomes.

Join the Campaign for Increased Investment in TAFE
Only TAFE can deliver the quality
training and education Australians
need. But for too long TAFEs
across the nation have been
forced to do more with less. New
research shows funding has been
cut and TAFEs are being forced to
turn away thousands of students
as a result. Staff workloads are
rising and budgets are falling.
Now is the time for action.
Send a message to Julia Gillard
and Wayne Swan letting them
know how important it is to
increase investment in TAFE in
this year’s budget. More info
